Golden Bridge Academy is a language school focused on teaching Mandarin Chinese. Founded in 2025, we are committed to providing high-quality, academically grounded lessons. 你好，我是Jade。Hi I'm Jade.
My journey as a Mandarin teacher began in the summer of 2018, during an immersive Chinese language programme in Shanghai. Standing in front of a classroom for the first time, I taught my very first Mandarin lessons there. What stayed with me most was not the vocabulary and sentence structures I taught, but the moment I saw students’ faces light up when they realised, “I can actually speak Chinese.”
That sense of achievement and growing confidence made me fall in love with language teaching—and I knew I had found my path.
Since then, I have spent over 6 years working in Chinese language education. I hold a Master’s degree in Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages and completed my PGCE in the UK, gaining QTS in 2025. I have taught a wide range of learners, from Year 3 pupils to adult students, across GCSE, HSK and YCT frameworks, in both school and university settings.
I strongly believe that Mandarin learning should be engaging, meaningful and enjoyable. In my lessons, I prioritise interaction, clear scaffolding and real-life use of the language, so that students feel supported, confident and motivated to speak. Nothing makes me prouder than seeing beginners grow in confidence and develop a genuine interest in the Chinese language and culture.
